Google’s Developer Conference 2016 in Beijing has just concluded, At the conference, we saw a series of new, old, unfamiliar and familiar “black technologies”, such as The landing of Google Developers site in China, the new features of Android Nougat, and the design and development of Android Wear 2.0 applications.

Here’s a look at what was said at Google’s developer conference.

Hello, Google Developer Conference 2016

The Google Developer Conference is an interactive conference designed to share Google’s latest technologies and open platforms with developers and technology industry leaders. This year, The Google Developers Conference will be held in Beijing on December 8 and Shanghai on December 14.

There will be 35 booths and products for attendees to visit, interact with and experience. Developers will have the opportunity to interact directly with Google leaders and product managers in the main and sub-sessions, learn about and experience the latest Google products and platforms in the Google Product and Partner areas.

The conference invited Scott Beaumont, President of Google Greater China, Ben Galbraith, Global Developer Product Director of Google, and other guests to share at the conference.

Before we explore the dark side of this conference, let’s take a look at what’s been interesting about [previous GDD conferences].

It can be seen that Google is also fully prepared for this GDD conference. In order to better share Google’s latest technology and open platform with developers, Google has also prepared a series of articles to bring you a better understanding of Google’s latest and most cutting-edge technology.

Google Developer, Android, Firebase China official website launched

As soon as GDD began, there was good news. The official websites of Google Deverloper, Android and Firebase in China have been officially launched, and Chinese developers can also search relevant documents without scientific Internet access.

  • GoogleDevelopers
  • Android Developers
  • Firebase

Firebase

Firebase is a mobile platform that helps developers develop high-quality applications quickly, and by packaging intuitive apis into a single SDK, developers can focus on solving customer problems rather than wasting time building complex infrastructure.

As a core part of Firebase, Firebase Analytics is built directly into Firebase, providing developers with a free and unlimited Analytics solution. Learn more about the behavior of developers’ users, from AD clicks to app usage. There was also a brief introduction to Firebase Analytics and Firebase’s message push solution. According to Google’s introduction, Firebase has a relevant department in mainland China that directly provides customer support to Chinese enterprises, which is also good news for developers.

It should be noted that Google only launched the above three related sites in mainland China, and the specific SDK still needs scientific Internet access to be used.

“Oops! My Android app crashed again!”

Android 7.0 was officially unveiled at Google I/O earlier this year, and the features and enhancements of the new Android OS, dubbed Nougat, were mentioned again at the Developer’s Conference today.

For the endless choice of Android ROM and various brands of different sizes of devices, how to make the application have a good compatibility must be a priority for developers. The conference also showed how apps on devices running Android’s Nougat operating system can be better adapted to different platforms, device types, and low-speed network environments.

Android Nougat has a faster interpreter, a better disk allocation strategy, and a more convenient hot update technology. With new features in the Java 8 language and the adb shell, developers can leverage the operating system to make their applications more powerful. Users can also enjoy new “shortcut” interaction, new notification features and new features such as multi-window mode and picture keyboard. Android is getting better and better. Expect more new features and a better user experience from Nuggets on Android Nougat.

Unfortunately, Scott said there is no more information on whether Google will officially return to China in the near future. Ben also didn’t answer the question of how Google Play and GMS are limited in China, but said there are no plans to bring GMS Core to China.

Progressive Web App with Angular

Star Product Angular

AngularJS is a front-end JavaScript framework developed by Google. Its powerful design concept and functionality have quickly made it the mainstream JavaScript framework, simplifying the development burden of front-end developers and helping them with Web development. The conference also provided a brief introduction to the new technology introduced by Google.

Progressive Web App with Angular

Progressive Web App (PWA) is a mobile Web standard framework introduced by Google last year. It is similar to a mobile Web application. It can be loaded in the background, used offline, generate desktop ICONS, and push messages in the system notification bar. During the afternoon session, we also watched a session on building progressive Web apps with Angular, including App Shell Generation, Service Worker and Push, and a live coding demo.

Speaking at the conference, Ben Galbraith, Google’s global developer product director, also noted that Google will provide developers with ai and machine learning development interfaces, These include TensorFlow, an open-source AI system, and Api.ai, an open platform for speech recognition that Google acquired in September. In our Machine Learing session, Ben Galbraith told us that TensorFlow, which combines Google Assistant for developers, will be released later this month.

Goodbye to the future at Google Developer Conference 2016

After Google I/O 2016 in the middle of this year, Google once again laid out a vision of the future at its developer conference, from Android to Firebase to TensorFlow, Once again, Google gives us a taste of the future that borders on magical realism.

Ready or not, Google will tell you that the future is right in front of you.
