Due to my work, I am currently in charge of platform construction. Looking at the background cases done in the past, I believe many product managers are thinking about a question: will this management system be a saas service?
Today I will talk to you about what saas is based on my product experience.
First of all, we have to mention two other terms: IaAS and PAAS
Infrastructure as a service, where you can have hardware services as well as system services. Any large company provides services through IaaS. Consumers do not control the options of the service, but they have the right to choose.
For example, when a company buys an IaAS, it buys a mainframe, but it needs to be responsible for the interior decoration and high availability, and even the construction of the site itself.

The cost of PAAs is relatively lower than that of IaaS. Application development based on IAAS. Although there are limitations, but to meet the development needs of the company, when the capacity is not enough. It can be expanded by a service provider, and by allowing separate systems.
You don’t need to manage hardware, systems, and just develop your own applications. It’s more developer oriented, and the cost is lower than iaaS, you’re just leasing someone else’s services
Standardized products, such as customer service systems, CRM systems, sales management systems, and so on, belong to this category of saas. The other party opened an account to you, or authorized to you, can use. Data is stored at the service provider, minimizing development costs. None of the three services is absolutely good or bad, but saas has the concept of cloud for most Internet enterprises. It reduces the cost of enterprises and increases the opportunities for entrepreneurs. Just imagine that the biggest cost for IT entrepreneurs was to buy servers and build systems, but now they only need to rent cloud services, which is short of good projects and talents.
However, due to local deployment: IaaS is possible for data privacy and security, but saas vendors are also working hard to exploit security and efficiency advantages in specific scenarios.
You can see iaaS is still for some of the more traditional, state-owned enterprises and even governments. They are still relatively new and exotic to the concept of the cloud.
Paas, on the other hand, are white-hot. It’s relatively easy to give you a set of apis that developers can call and quickly build their own applications.
The evolution of saas based on PAAs is the need of the market. To reduce maintenance costs, enterprises always need to meet the following requirements:
“I just want the software. I don’t want to spend money on anything else.”
The corresponding saas ecosystem is still driven by channel and business. Comparing the first concept of “cloud”, and the second is the scenario services provided by saas itself, customer service needs to understand and trust. Improving the efficiency and benefits of customers becomes the key to saas services.
