Alibaba Cloud Q1 financial report: cloud computing paid users exceeded 1 million for the first time



On the evening of August 17, 2017, Alibaba Group announced its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2018 (April 2017 to the end of June 2017), and Alibaba Cloud reached an important milestone, with the number of paid users of cloud computing exceeding 1 million for the first time. Meanwhile, the enterprise market was fully activated by new technologies such as cloud computing and artificial intelligence, driving the quarterly revenue to reach 2.431 billion yuan. The number of paid users on Aliyun increased to 1.011 million in the quarter from 874,000 in the previous quarter, according to the earnings report. Revenue for the quarter remained strong at 2.431 billion yuan, up 96 percent from the same period last year, benefiting from strong growth in paying subscribers and continued optimization of revenue mix from high-value-added services.
