According to the Intelligent Processor Research Center of the Institute of Computing Technology under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the 10 million yuan special fund will be used for basic research on AI chips, exploring the architecture and algorithms of next-generation AI chips and application development methods in some new scenarios, such as AR/VR. This will lay a scientific and technological foundation for China to compete in the international chip market in the intelligent era

On the other hand, the special fund will be used to promote the current Cambrian chips to various intelligent cloud servers, intelligent terminals and intelligent robots in the market, and strive to initially establish the position of Cambrian chips in the intelligent chip market within 18 months.

According to introduction, the energy efficiency of the Cambrian deep learning processor is two orders of magnitude higher than that of the mainstream CPU and GPU, which has a strong market competitive advantage. In 2016, the World Internet Conference was rated as one of the fifteen “World Internet Leading Scientific and technological Achievements”.
