Bitcoin Cash, as a peer-to-peer electronic cash, has won the support of many users and merchants for its low fees and fast transactions. With BCH demonstrating its superior transaction processing capability during the stress test on September 1, when more than 2 million transactions were made daily and the cost of each transaction was negligible at $0.001, more merchants will be willing to offer BCH payment options to users. To help new merchants better adopt BCH, this article introduces several BCH-based POS tools to provide global enterprises with the ability to take advantage of this innovative technology. Bitpay Bitpay is one of the largest payment processing tools in the world. In April, Bitpay announced the addition of Bitcoin cash to the company’s point-of-sale platform. BCH can now be used by any merchant worldwide with a Bitpay system, and the company recently launched a BCH settlement service. Therefore, with Bitpay’s commercial service, users can not only accept Bitcoin cash but also use BCH for settlement. They can also choose to use the local legal tender. In fact, Bitpay merchants can allocate their assets at settlement and choose how many BCH and fiat coins they want, which gives merchants the ability to avoid cryptocurrency price fluctuations. IO bchpls. IO bchpls. IO is a free Bitcoin cash POS application that allows any online or brick-and-mortar merchant to accept BCH payments. The app was launched in May and users can download the software themselves. For businesses, if they want to use it, all they have to do is sign up by email and set a strong password. After that, users simply enter the extended public key into the BCH address under their control to start accepting Bitcoin cash. Another interesting merchant application is Pop from the development team of Handcash, creators of the Bitcoin Cash NFC-compatible wallet. Pop also allows merchants to create invoices for customers after they register a Handcash handle, which is attached to their Handcash wallet. Both Pop and Handcash have NFC functionality, but Pop invoices can also be paid through any wallet. Pop is still in beta, though, and the company plans to launch its Handcash iOS platform soon. Cheddr Cheddr. Cash is a free POS platform that accepts BCH and runs on any browser. Similar to bchpls.io, there is no need to install anything to use Cheddr, and merchants can choose to accept zero confirmation BCH transactions if they wish. The benefit of using Cheddr is its cost. Merchants pay much lower transaction fees than traditional payment processors. Cheddr supports CashadDR address format and the application is open source code available for review on Github. Cheddr developers explained that “no personal information is stored or transmitted”. Coinbase Commerce (CC) is an application provided by San Francisco company Coinbase that gives merchants the ability to accept Bitcoin cash in minutes. The app is free and available to brick-and-mortar merchants and online stores. In addition, the CC platform has the potential to push BCH to 2.7 million merchants because CC can be integrated with plugins such as Woocommerce, Shopify, Magento, Opencart and Prestashop. While CC is an app created by Coinbase, unlike trading platforms, CC is an unmanaged service, meaning merchants always retain ownership of the funds. Back in May, another free BCH payment platform named Akari Pay was introduced to the BCH community. Akari Global Foundation believes that a BCH-based payment gateway and crowdfunding website could be created to increase adoption of BCH. In order for merchants to be able to use Akari Pay, they must access the Github repository and follow the installation instructions. The Akari Pay codebase is open source and also available for developer review. The platform is customizable and merchants can use a variety of themes and colors to set up the payment gateway of the BCH they want. The developers also created an Akari demo video where users can chat with Akari programmers on Freenode. There are many options available for online merchants and brick-and-mortar stores that want to embrace BCH in their daily business. In addition to the above mentioned, there are other POS solutions in the works. For example, a development team from the United Kingdom created a BCH based POS device called Mini-POS to enable brick-and-mortar stores to accept BCH. Driven by these payment tools, the adoption of BCH will go further and further, making it the best payment currency in the world.
