PTGUI is a powerful panoramic image Mosaic software with five letters from the Panorama Tools Graphical User Interface. It has been upgraded to the 11th edition since 1996 (2018).
PTGui is a quick and easy way to create a 360X180 degree Full Spherical Panorama. The workflow is simple: 1. Import a set of original negatives; 2. Run automatic alignment control points; 3. Generate and save panoramic picture files.
The software automatically reads the lens parameters of the film, identifies the pixel features in the overlapping areas of the image, and then automatically sutures and optimizes the fusion in the form of “control points.” The panoramic picture editor in the software has richer functions, supporting a variety of view mapping methods, users can also manually add or delete control points, so as to improve the accuracy of stitching. The software supports image file input of various formats, and the output can be selected as the image of high dynamic range. The brightness and shade of the image after stitching is uniform, and basically there is no obvious stitching trace. Software available in Windows and MAC versions.
PTGUI is a user interface software developed by New House company of Mr. Joost Nieuwenhuijse from Holland for Panorama Tools of Mr. Helmut Dersch from Germany.
Panorama Tools is the most powerful Panorama creation tool available, but it requires user scripting commands to work. PTGui creates high-quality panoramas by providing a visual interface for image stitching with Panorama Tools.
As of April 2018, PTGUI has been upgraded to version 11.
Here is a brief introduction to how to use PTGUI panorama synthesis software for photo stitching to make VR panoramic photos:
Step 1: Put the fisheye panorama into PTGUI
Step 2: Click the alignment image (SLR lens software will automatically find the parameters, can not find the parameters of the lens how to accurately choose the parameters of the next description)
Step 3: If there is no problem with the number of photos taken, you can get a panoramic photo without the ground. Click the “Show seams” button to see the serial number of each photo
Step 4: Click create panorama, click set optimization size (If you want to upload to urban Alliance VR panorama making platform, manually fill in the resolution below 15000*7500, the size of the synthesized panorama will not exceed 100M limit of the server)
Step 5: Select JPG photo format, 95 quality, mix panorama only, click create panorama button, wait for the software processing is completed to get a two-to-one panorama photo with 15000*7500 resolution, use DevalVR player to watch stereo panoramic photos different from plane photos
