Select multiple lines of code to add Comment

Some friends may more or less participate in Code Review (hereinafter referred to as CR) of some projects on GitHub. On GitHub, the CR experience wasn’t great. You couldn’t comment on multiple lines of code at once.

However, most of the time, we need to comment on a code block, and only one line of code can not meet our needs.

CR

The good news is that now, yes, now, GitHub has finally given us the ability to comment on multiple lines of code.

Here’s an example.

For example, if you want to add a comment to a block in line 3-8, all you have to do is hold down the blue + button after line 3 and drag it down to line 8 to select the block and comment. Perfect.

Beyond the CR

In fact, GitHub has launched a number of powerful features or services in the past year, including:

GitHub Actions

GitHub Actions automatically builds workflows for projects, such as code reviews, automated packaging, automated testing, release, and more, and is currently in beta testing.

GitHub Package Registry

The GitHub Package Registry, also known as the Package management service, makes it easy to distribute public or private packages along with source code.

Here’s what the officials said:

With GitHub Package Registry you can safely publish and consume packages within your organization or with the entire world.

GitHub package management is still in beta. If you want to try it first, you can apply.

GitHub Repository Template

The GitHub Repository Template allows developers to mark GitHub repositories as templates, so that when creating new GitHub repositories, they can choose to build on this Template. Templates are now available to all GitHub users.

GitHub Unlimited Free Private Repositories

In January of this year, GitHub announced that it would allow all GitHub developers to create private repositories indefinitely. Thanks to GitHub and Microsoft, you used to have to pay to create a private repository on GitHub.
