Everything you get from the Apple Watch starts with the face. The watchOS 7 has more personality, more power and more room to explore than ever before.
WatchOS 7 brings the “Optimized Battery Charging” feature, which, when enabled, allows your best Apple Watch to learn from your personal charging habits, so it can wait until it’s 100% charged. So, in theory, if you normally charge your Apple Watch overnight while you sleep, it will charge to 80 percent, then wait a little while before waking up to charge the rest. Optimized battery charging helps keep the Apple Watch battery working optimally for long periods of time, but you can turn it off at any time.
By default, Optimized Battery Charging is enabled on any Apple Watch running watchOS 7, but you can turn it off (or back on) by following these steps. Here’s how to use optimized battery charging on the Apple Watch in watchOS 7.
How to set up optimized battery charging on Apple Watch
1. Launch the Settings app from the Apple Watch home screen.
2. Tap the battery.
3. Click Battery Running Status.
4. Click the optimized battery charging on/off switch.
When the switch turns gray, the Optimized battery charging function is disabled. You can easily open it again by following the same steps described above. When you’re done, just make sure the switch is green and the feature will be enabled again.
