Getting back to business, for micro channel games, what are the ways to make money?

Through advertising or in-app purchase, as the current domestic policy for in-app purchase games requires a license number, in-app purchase monetization is not directly feasible for individual developers. One is that individual developers do not have the qualification to apply for a copyright number, and the other is that the time to apply for a copyright number is long (one of our team’s mobile games started to apply for a copyright number last year, and it has been more than a year now, and it is still in the queue).

So, for personal production of micro channel games, there is only one way to profit, that is, through advertising.

Wechat games want to open display advertising has a hard condition: small program cumulative independent visitors (UV) more than 1000, and no record of violations.

Presumably to help individual developers get their ads up and running as quickly as possible, one way to do this is to “apply for open beta.” It means that the official can increase some users for your small game, help you to reach the condition of 1000 users as soon as possible, and can open advertising.

How to apply for open beta

Enter the small program background, open Settings, game Settings, you can see a game under the public test, click “apply” button to apply for the public test.

If you click apply, congratulations, your little game may soon have some open beta users and be eligible for advertising.

However, if you have a situation like mine down below.

Take a look at your mini game Settings, search is not closed, and there are no violations. The reason for this is that the quality of the game is not up to the requirements of the open beta. It is recommended to optimize the gameplay and content. This is the reply from the customer service after I consulted wechat customer service. If you go to the wechat mini game development forum to search or ask questions, you will probably get the same response. This means that we can no longer get official free users by applying for open beta.

Don’t get discouraged, there are other ways to get to 1000 users faster.

Use wechat mini games to promote

Open wechat and search for “wechat mini game promotion”. Find the official micro channel small game promotion program.

After login, according to the prompts to open an advertiser account (advertisers are advertising), if your small game is bound to the current wechat account, then after opening should be able to see their own small game. Then all I had to do was invest some money (not much) in advertising my little game.

Add ads to mini-games

First, create AD space, select “AD Management” in traffic main, and then create the corresponding AD space.

Here, I created a motivational video AD for the player’s resurrection.

Copy the ID of the AD space and go back to the mini game development tool.

Open the works Settings and fill in the AD ID below. Here, make sure to distinguish the ID of the video AD from that of the interstitial AD. In addition, pay attention to not leaving Spaces before and after the AD.

Then we just call up a block where we want to display the AD.

As shown in the figure, the upper block of “Pull up incentive video ads” is used to display videos and interstitial ads, while the lower block of “center display Banner ads” is used to display Banner ads.

Callbacks are often required when a video AD is played, because you need to confirm that the player has finished watching the video AD to deliver a reward. You can use the following two callback events.

The “When the AD is finished” event will be invoked when the video AD is finished and there is no exit. We can put the logic of awarding rewards into this building block.

The “When AD pull exception” event will be called when the video AD pull fails. We can add some prompt information in this building block.

As shown in the figure, it is the use of video advertisement in Delicate 1010. When the video is played, it will be resurrected and prompt when the video fails to be pulled.
