On the Performance home page, you can find Trends View by switching the TAB in the upper right corner of the Performance home page. This page shows transactions whose performance has changed significantly over time.
To calculate Trending Transactions, the first step is to filter out transactions with large throughput fluctuations, determine the baseline of the two parts of duration, and calculate their change percentage. Regressions were percentage changes greater than zero, while improvements were percentage changes less than zero. Sentry uses the T-test to compare the time period before and after a transaction and assigns a confidence score.
This confidence score is infinite, and sentry. IO displays trends with high confidence scores by default. To see the trend without considering the confidence score, add confidence():>0 in the search bar.
For example, looking at transactions over a 2-week period using the default P50 baseline, if there is AP (50)=100s in the first week and AP (50)=110s in the second week, the percentage is (110/100)-1 = 0.1. The sample Transaction has a performance regression of 10%.
The more data available, the more accurate the trend improves. For this reason, trends work best over long periods and over large volumes of transactions.
Although our default baseline calculation uses P50, you can change the baseline calculation through the drop-down menu. Other options include P75, P95, P99 and Average, the baseline used to determine percentage change.
