With the remote replication function of storage devices, the VM data on the storage devices at the production site is remotely replicated to the Dr Site. In the remote replication Dr Solution, VM management data can be copied and Dr Plans can be managed. When a disaster occurs, the Dr Plan can be executed to implement automatic switchover. RPO is the replication period between storage arrays, and RTO is the time of system-wide switchover and VM startup.
The array-based remote replication Dr Solution provides the following functions:
1. Centralized recovery plans
Create and manage recovery plans.
Automatically discovers and displays VMS protected by the array.
Map virtual machines to appropriate resources (such as clusters, storage, or networks) at the failover site.
2. Automatically perform failover
Supports one-click start of recovery plans.
The secondary LUN of a remote replication is automatically promoted to the primary LUN for recovery.
Monitor site availability and alert users to possible site failures.
Manage and monitor recovery plan execution.
3. No interruption Test (DISASTER Recovery drill)
Automatically perform recovery tests.
When a storage snapshot is used to perform a recovery test, replicated data is not lost.
Automatically clean up the test environment after the test is complete.
You can view and export test results and perform failover.
4. Plan in-migration
Automatically perform scheduled migration and shut down protected VMS on the original site.
Before starting the migration process, ensure that the vm data is fully replicated in consistent application states.
Perform data synchronization to force a full copy of the shut down VM to the failover site.
